Granola/ energy bar has been on our minds for quite some time now. Cereals were one of our first offerings when we started the bakery and this felt like a natural progression especially since everyone wanted one (something about a healthy snack on the go is so appealing). But the key to making a bar which does not use any added sugar or a ton of added fat proved to be trickier than anticipated. Nonetheless we have gotten there.

Our Date Bar is made with a bunch of nuts, toasted oats and coconut. We have used a combination of dates, prunes, raisin & cranberry to naturally sweeten the mix and give it a rather attractive fudgy quality. It's baked low and slow turning into a chewy yet moist bar.

We have 3 versions on offer. Plain, of course but also one topped with a thin layer of dark chocolate & seasalt and one with white chocolate & candied orange peel. Take your pick based on what you like. After all who said a date bar cannot qualify as a treat too?
